Welcome to GraceNet. GraceNet was named after Grace Hopper, whose pioneering work in computer programming and cryptography provides inspiration and encouragement for women who work in computing and related fields. Founded in 1997, Gracenet includes several thousand women in tech or related fields who meet in San Francisco and Los Angeles each month to discuss common issues and to network about jobs and industry events.

Our Mission Statement:

To promote the contribution of women in technology and other fields that use technology, and to leverage women's intellectual and creative capital for the betterment of society. GraceNet is the New Girl's Network bringing inspiration and support to women who work in or with high technology.

We have California chapters in San Francisco and Los Angeles (see Future Speakers page for exact dates and details) and are incorporated as a California 501c(3) nonprofit.

Once a month we meet to share a meal, network, and listen to a speaker. We are open to anyone in a field that uses computing technology, and there are no membership fees.

DISGRACEFUL AWARD IN ADVERTISING is one of our pet projects. We target companies that are particularly damaging to the image of women.

If you wish to join GraceNet, contact founder Sylvia Paull at whoisylvia@aol.com. Men are welcome as well.
